Wear to exterior includes bumping to corners revealing boards, bumping and chipping to spine ends, small 1″ closed tear to cloth at head of spine, rubbing, discoloration, and minor soiling. Light foxing to endpapers and sporadically to margins throughout. A few light finger prints to margins. Ownership inscription dated 1886 to second front free end paper. Else is clean and bright with beautiful illustrations throughout including many full page. 93 pages. This is a large book, and may require extra shipping charges.

This copy unnumbered but is the artist’s copy, so marked in pencil by Baskin, inscribed by Baskin for Paul (Bitter), Baskin’s nephew (son of Baskin’s then wife Esther’s sister, Fannie).  16 unnumbered pages.  With 6 wood-engravings, 4 printed on Japan tissue, all being versions of Blake’s face. Baskin has additionally signed 5 of the engravings, including all the ones on Japan tissue. Original marbled wrappers, printed label on upper cover. Light edgewear as is common to this title, Bitter’s name label, which establishes provenance but is otherwise less than attractive, on front flap.  A very good copy.

Minor bumping to spine ends and corners. Minor chipping to foot of spine. Minor browning to spine. A few light finger smudges to front board. Minor rubbing. One small scuff mark to top corner of front board. Very light creasing to edges of several pages. Very small closed tears to edges of a few tissue guards.  Black smudge to margin page 94 which does not affect the text. Else is incredibly clean and bright. Binding is tight and hinges are in excellent condition. Includes 50 beautiful tipped in full color illustrations, 49 of which are bound in at the rear. 126 pages.

    The original three series of popular Catalonian songs, 100 in total, published between 1901 and 1913 and bound as a single volume. Signed and dedicated by Capmany to half title, in 1953, one year before his death. A remarkable collection, each song illustrated, many by leading artists, with accompanying lyrics, score and notes on the work. In VG order throughout. Stock quality and paper sizes vary, but bar occasional spotting and toning to page edges, all is clean and bright. Binding is quarter white leather, a little marked, with four raised bands with gilt titling and decoration. Front board is paper-covered with cover from third series, this fact discreetly covered by paper patch. A little marked, moreso to rear. A unique copy of an important item. 8vo. Unpaginated

    This is the special limited edition of 50 copies only, bound in half leather, signed and numbered by Gillmor to half title and accompanied by an original signed linocut. This is copy no.14 and the accompanying laid in print, ‘Preening Pair’, is similarly numbered. Book is in fine internal order, with Gillmor’s magnificent work showing well throughout.  Half dark cream leather with marbled paper-covered boards. Only issue with the book is some light shelfwear to bottom edge of boards – hence ‘near fine’ classification. Presented in yellow cloth-covered slip case (NB. not d/j), this with some light marking, a little mottling to base and light wear only. Lino cut is in fine condition. Image is c.21 x 18cm on c.30 x 26cm sheet. Scarce in this limited edition. Folio. 180pp

A near fine copy in like dust wrapper.  Signed copies are scarce indeed and especially desirable with the original drawing.
