Wear to exterior includes bumping to corners revealing boards, bumping and chipping to spine ends, small 1″ closed tear to cloth at head of spine, rubbing, discoloration, and minor soiling. Light foxing to endpapers and sporadically to margins throughout. A few light finger prints to margins. Ownership inscription dated 1886 to second front free end paper. Else is clean and bright with beautiful illustrations throughout including many full page. 93 pages. This is a large book, and may require extra shipping charges.

Light blue cloth covered boards with black and gilt title and decoration to front board and to spine. Minor wear to exterior includes bumping to spine ends and corners, browning to spine, and general rubbing. Minor browning to floral end papers. Interior hinges are starting though binding remains tight. Author’s inscription to second free end paper reads “To Rose Shuman with compliments of the author. June 17, 1899.” Several photos have writing next to them explaining who the person was or how the original owner knew them. Many have a faint “D” next to them, most likely to mark those who had died. Wear to exterior includes rubbing and browning as well as bumping to corners revealing boards. Crack to front hinge though binding remains tight and secure. Browning and foxing throughout though text remains bright. Hand-written list of titles on second front end paper. One pamphlet is inscribed by the author. An important piece of New England history. Lovely book of bookplates designed by Saunders, who operated the Saunders Studio Press with her husband, Lynne Saunders, in the 1920s and 30s. This book includes four additional bookplates designed by Saunders. Expertly rebacked. Black cloth backed grey patterned paper covered boards with black title to front board. Minor browning and rubbing to exterior. Bumping to edges. Additional bookplates to front pastedown, rear free end paper, and rear pastedown. Light offsetting from ink to a few pages. Else is clean and bright with wonderful bookplates on every page, some in color.

Very small closed tears to edges of a few tissue guards.  Black smudge to margin page 94 which does not affect the text. Else is incredibly clean and bright. Binding is tight and hinges are in excellent condition. Includes 50 beautiful tipped in full color illustrations, 49 of which are bound in at the rear. 126 pages.

Embellished with Seventy-six portraits, of the principal characters mentioned in the work. 4to. Full brown leather covered boards with gilt title and decoration to spine. Five raised bands to spine. Gilt emblem and borders to both boards. Minor bumping and rubbing to edges and hinges. Small chip to leather at foot of spine. Light rubbing to spine. Gilt to edges of boards, though some has been rubbed off. Gilt dentiles. Marbled end pages slightly faded and browned at edges. Original owner’s book plate laid in and four small areas of browning to front paste down where it was once attached. Minor browning and foxing throughout. Many pages are nearly perfect Though some on either side of certain illustrations are more browned or foxed. See pictures. Text and illustrations remain bright. THIS IS A HEAVY BOOK AND MAY REQUIRE EXTRA SHIPPING CHARGES. 363 pages + 84 pages “Notes and Illustrations” + index of names.

Finely bound brown leather covered boards with beautiful gilt and blind stamped decoration to boards and gilt title and decoration to spine. Minor bumping to spine ends and corners. Minor discoloration to leather on spine and around the edges and very lightly to a few small areas on the boards. Very light rubbing. Book reads right to left and what would be back to front in English. Includes text in both Hebrew and English. Ownership inscription to front free end paper and Art Deco book plate to rear free end paper. Minor chipping to edges of end papers.  Browning to rear interior hinge where rear free end paper was once attached with tape. The page has now been correctly tipped in. Hinges are starting though binding remains tight and strong. Minor foxing throughout though text remains bright. Tape repairs to small closed tears on margins of four pages. The bottom corner of page 181/182 is torn off which affects a small amount of text, as pictured. Original ribbon bookmark is present but no longer bound in. Else is clean and bright. Gilt-edged pages. Includes eighteen pages of songs and what appears to be one random page from a Haggadah bound in at the rear.
